Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now OnestiThe name refers to the Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Gheorghi Romania). She was first to achieve a perfect 10 during an Olympic occasion. Bela Karolyi later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci as she was only six years old. The first time she competed at the national junior championships of 1969 where she placed 13th. She won the competition in 1970. In 1972, at an international meet of communist country juniors before the Olympics, she was awarded three gold medals. After that, in 1973 and '74 she was the overall junior champion. When she competed for the first time with a senior team in 1975 she topped Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion, winning four gold and one silver medals. In 1976, she became the first female performer to make reverse double salos using the parallel bar that was uneven as part of her dismount. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career as an entertainer at the age of a teenager. At the age of a girl she began her journey as Figure Skating Performer alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. The show featured dramatized ice skating shows.
