Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 at an Olympic contest. Bela Karalyi stumbled upon Comaneci in the age group of six. She would later become Romania's gymnastics coach. In 1969 she was a participant at the Romanian Junior Olympics and placed 13th. In 1970, she won the title. In 1972, in a meet of communist countries junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she took home three medals of gold. And in 1973, and 1974 she was named the junior champion in all aspects. She took home four gold medals and one silver medals in her first international competition for seniors and was held in the year 1975. It was the first time that she competed as a senior. In 1976, she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympics and was the first female in history to dismount the parallel bars with an inverse salto that doubled backward. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens, she began performing in touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater as well as her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol started her entertainment career as a teenager. Her first job was as a figure skater, performing alongside her twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows that were known as Ice Capades. The shows featured skating on ice and included theatre performances.
